My workflow is to markup the book with a highlighter pen as I go. Then, at another time, I will transfer those highlights into Supermemo. This doesn't really break my flow since I am breaking it apart into two stages. Regarding Minimalism recommendations, watch this to get started:

Ah, ok. Yes, it was 18 lbs, but 20 lbs is not a stone. In fact, the Imperial system has 14 lbs as a stone. The reason I chose 18 lbs was because it would make me 13 stone - like you say, a nice whole number. But if you are operating from just a lbs point of view, as you do in the US, then it...

    Have you also used Anki?

The Six Pack Challenge - accountability thread

Doc, it depends on the motive behind asking how I set the goal. Is the real question, "How did you stick to it?"

The Six Pack Challenge - accountability thread

A significant milestone for me today: I am now 13st 8.6lbs, which means I have lost 9.4lbs since I started. That means I have passed the halfway mark of my initial goal. Also, I am the lightest I have been for nearly 5 years. Yay! I notice it in the mirror too. I am the incredibly shrinking person.

What are you using Supermemo for?

My experience is that after you master a few basics, you don't even think about them anymore. Remember the 80:20 rule. A few very basic things are used nearly all the time.

What are you using Supermemo for?

My advice is to run with the basics for a couple of months until you have that done in your bones. Then, explore functionality here and there. i.e. don't run before you can walk.

Ah that video looks ideal for you. I quite liked some tofu and soy sauce thing I had once in a restaurant. Flaxseed is good too, like the Chia seeds. I might be adding that to my shake too.

What are you using Supermemo for?

You may be referring to LittleFish there. There are other users who like to keep things tidy, like myself.

There are some good YouTube videos on minimalism, to give you a taster. It is a philosophy more than anything. Every item you have has an opportunity cost. It disturbs your peace when you see the clutter there, while the item itself often has little utility.

What are you using Supermemo for?

Since you are relatively new to Supermemo, I would recommend trying to stick to one template for a while, if you can. Things can get a bit messy otherwise, from others experience. I was thinking perhaps you were using the Learning folder for processing. Perhaps a better name would be Misc. That...

    Efficient Food Consumption/Preparation

Hah, our posts just crossed, so you won't be liking the chicken recipe above! They have some vegan ones too, I believe. I hope! Chia seeds are super-healthy. Most seeds and nuts are. Cacau nibs is basically raw dark chocolate, as I understand it. It is good for arteries and cardiovascular disease.

Just to add, for meal prep, I got some ideas from these guys: Their channel is quite entertaining, the recipes are simple and that video alone got over 9M views!

    Share your Knowledge Tree

We all have to start somewhere. I have found mine has evolved over time. The great thing about the Supermemo Knowledge Tree (as opposed to Anki's), is that it is much more flexible.

    Efficient Food Consumption/Preparation

I've heard of soylent but not ambronite. I presume they are a competitor. Each morning, I have a superfood shake using my blender. I have almond milk, chia seeds, cacau nibs, two tablespoons of whey protein, frozen blueberries and frozen strawberries. Crank that baby up and you get a nice...

I like that one. Do you ever read anything about minimalism?

What are you using Supermemo for?

Thanks for doing that. Well, here are my suggestions. 1. Under your Language folder, put Japanese as a subfolder. 2. Create a folder called Computers. Under that put Programming. 3. Under Learning, put To learn, In progress, Done. Depends on what you have there really. 4. Create a folder...

What are you using Supermemo for?

I'm happy to provide suggestions. May I ask you to post your Knowledge Tree under the Knowledge Tree thread please? I want people to see a collection of them there. We are all at different stages and so I think it helps others see how these things mature.

The Six Pack Challenge - accountability thread

Time for an update, since it has been one month since I started. I am currently 13st 10.2lbs. That means I have lost 7.8lbs so far, with 10.2lbs to go before I reach my initial goal. My body fat percentage has gone from 23.7% to 21.7%. I also set a blood pressure goal. It was 126 systolic and...
