Churchill on democracy

Was he right? Can you include Republics in democracy?

A republic, done correctly, is a layered democracy. You elect your representatives and they represent you in a smaller forum where you won't 10,000 voices drowning you out during discussion. Though I HAVE seen telecasts of Parliament in session from our BBC network channel here in the USA and the "won't have voices" comment apparently doesn't hold completely true
