    Our own worst enemies?

Surely that's counter-intuitive to the premise of resisting things that are beneficial, while consuming or doing things that are detrimental?

    Voting is pointless

What makes you think Political Correctness started in the US? Isn't the way in which the UK is dealing with PC a direct result of our own equality legislation, that began with the Sex Discrimination Act (1975) and which has morphed into the all-inclusive Equality Act 2010?

    Voting is pointless

I don't have the data to compare. Is there more ambulance-chasing? Yes. But that's arisen from the personal injury legislation, not from the USA's lead. Are there more threats to sue? Unsure. I receive threats from people who wish to sue the Council on a semi-regular basis (maybe 6-10 times a...

    Our own worst enemies?

Why do we resist doing things that we know are good for our well-being while craving things that are detrimental to our well-being?

    Voting is pointless

You say soon after, but really, we aren't anywhere near as litigious as the US and they've been at it for decades.

    Irrational (Magical) Thinking

Irrational thinking springs up everywhere. Some irrational beliefs are passed on to us. But others we find on our own. Survival requires recognizing patterns - night follows day, berries of a particular colour that will make you ill. And because missing the obvious often hurts more than seeing...

    Blood pressure

It's typically the average of the last 3 months (as it takes roughly 3 months for red blood cells to regenerate). It means I can't fingerprick and get a good reading - and then go and eat a chocolate bar thinking it won't show.

    The Administrator is ill!

When I was away in Norwich recently, I saw this and forgot to send it to you (sorry the picture is blurry - I'd had a couple of pints...)

    Voting is pointless

And I'm about to quote from Cloud Atlas again: Person 1: "No matter what you do it will never amount to anything but a single drop in a limitless ocean." Person 2: "What is an ocean but a multitude of drops?” I understand the logic, Jon. And happily note your voting intention. And you are...

Before the Big Bang, there was...

Now, that's a viewpoint I've never considered - that the BB obliterated all that was 'before'. I can see the logic to it.

    What happens when you die?

Fi, I am sorry to hear of your sad news. Your observations are interesting too. I've witnessed two people die - one was having a heart attack and I was giving him first aid. He died in my arms nonetheless - and the pain and fear that he displayed in his last moments disappeared with his last...

    What really annoys you?

Doc - thank you - you just reminded me of the thing that is guaranteed to send me nuclear every time I see it. People driving while talking on their mobile (cellphone). And hands-free is not actually that much better.

    How many genders are there?

Hmmm. Or, the other 50% of the population, you know - the ones without the sausage a brussel sprouts - have equipment that's sophisticated enough to hatch a human!

    How many genders are there?

Well, exactly. But that's how the medical profession categorise people. And ultimately, it is the biggest difference between men and women - so you could say it's the definitive difference.
